Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. NJAVARAKIZHI

This type of treatment is a sadation process where the whole body or a specifc part is made to perspire by massaging with medicated rice tied in musle bag. 2 to 4 masseurs apply this for about 60 to 90 minutes per day for period of 7 to 14 days. 'Njavarakizhi' gives excellent results in the treatment of paralysis, joint pains, rheumatism, muscular wasting and certain skin disorders.

NASYAM

These treatments are specially effective in paralysis, rheumatism, arthritis, spondylosis, and other psychosomatic diseases. The classical therapies are also made use of, for devising new treatment modalities to deal with several serious ailments of the modern man such as parkinsonism, motor neuron diseases, cancer etc.

SIRODHARA

'Siro' literally means Head and 'Dhara' refers to the continuous flow of any liquid. It is a treatment process by which certain herbal oils, medicated milk / buttermilk etc., are poured on to the forehead in a unique manner that ensures that flow of the concoctions remain continuous on to the forehead for a period of about 40 minutes per day for 7 to 14 days.

THARPANAM

DHARA

The patient is advised to lie on a special wooden droni with his neck and head comfortably placed. Then a non-stop continuous stream of the prescribed liquid medicine is gently poured on his forehead from a prescribed height through a specially devised apparatus called Dhara Chatti for a period of one to one and a half hours.

PIZHICHIL

This herbal oil treatment is very popular in Kerala. In this , 2-4 masseur apply lukewarm herbal oils all over the body in a special rhythmic manner continuously for about 60-90 minutes per day for a period of 7 to 21 days It is very similar to 'Abhyangam', but here the oil is poured on the body)
