What are the causes for head aches

Dear Doctor: I am having pain in low back of head and top side of neck and sometimes it spread over side or heads, and the pain alternating left or right side, mostly of left side. The pain I feel is pulsing, throbbing pain, I am clear to say it is cause of vain. I pain is occurring when I wake from bed in morning. I have took cervical spain xray and found there is no cervical spondylitis. What will the cause of my pain? Migraine? Or any other issue? How to cure this? I am having this pain many years on and off. I am 35 now.
